About Hello. My name is Dirk Rossbach. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator living and working in Cologne, Germany. This is my portfolio showcasing a variety of personal and commercial projects. During the early and mid-nineties I played in different bands, I spun records and painted a lot. At the same time I got involved in a collective of musicians, DJ's, artists, photographers, graffiti writers, skateboarders and other creative dropouts of all sorts. We played concerts, organized illegal warehouse parties and art happenings. We went all-city, took space and left our mark with urethane wheels, spray paint and stickers. In the following years I tried to connect my passion for design with the necessity to earn a living. So I began to work in different graphic departments. Finally in 1999 I started to work for Groove Attack Distribution, one of the top independent distributors for urban dance music in Europe. Since then I handled a broad range of interesting projects, including website design for Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, Biz Markie, and Venus Malone, t-shirt design for The Dynamics, Jackson Analogue, and Theory Hazit, catalogue production and the design of promotional material. In parallel to my work for Groove Attack I realized many other commercial and non-commercial projects, some of them are shown on the pages of my online portfolio. Between 1998 and 2002 I designed and published my own online magazine Aroma-Online. I also wrote for music magazines and other print publications. In 2002, I founded Kamura Industries™ and worked for various brands and clients since. My work has been published in print publications such as GUDBERG Magazine, VICE, Juice, Groove, D2000, The Box, Plus, Net Business, Wallride, and featured on digital platforms and internet community sites like DiK - Design is Kinky, SRF.STN - Surfstation, Pixelsurgeon, Designer In Action®, CBCNET, Design made in Germany, Visual Orgasm, The Volcom Art Gallery, I love your t-shirt, aroma-online.de, poponline.de, and popkomm.de among others.
